things I want to remember

From the time Gwen was just a few months old, until she weaned I sang the same song to her every night.

I was sad when we stopped, but for some reason it just didn't work as well when we weren't laying together on the futon. Well for the past few weeks she's let me start singing it to her again. Not every night, but regularly.

This past Thursday night I sang it, and halfway through a little voice piped up. She sang the second verse call and response style with me, and the chorus with me, before trailing off and letting me finish the song on my own. It was the sweetest.

The other day we had a rough start, so before Trav and Gwen left I asked her if she knew how much I love her. I proceeded to tell her I love her more then yoga. More then pasta (even with white sauce) or cookies. Even more then sunny days or thunderstorms.

She loved this game.

Since then she'll randomly tell me, "Mama, I love you so much. I love you more then [our house! a ball! books! just a few recent examples]."

  1. Your... I love you more... game reminded me of this Little Britain skit. This might be something you get to look forward to :)
