About the Blog and Author

For those just finding their way here, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Meegs, and I'm a personal life blogger, with a focus on my favorite things: travel, food, yoga, and my beautiful daughter, Gwenivere.

I started this blog in 2002, as a way to vent and ramble. It's become my journal and memory keeper.

Since that first post I've: graduated college, moved to the Philly suburbs, found a great job in center city (where I spent 11 years!), traveled to China, bought a house, got married, traveled to Ireland and Mexico, walked a 60-miles in 3-days walk for breast cancer, got a super pup (Daisy), had Gwen, took up yoga, and acted as a surrogate!

 (Miss Daisy... such a love!)

In August 2015 we were surprised with an amazing job offer for my husband, Travis, which took us 2/3 of the way across the country to Colorado. There I was lucky enough to pursue some of my passions, and I am now a yoga teacher (RYT200) and certified birth doula.

I'm a former baby preschooler-wearing, former extended breastfeeding (3+ years), former bedsharing mama (full time 2.5 months, partially... 4.5 years!); who is still completely AP even with the passing of those things.

Travis and I were married in October 2006 and have been together since October 2000. He's sort of a goofball, a little bit of a nerd, definitely a big hockey and football fan (Penguins and Steelers for him, Flyers and Eagles for me). Hiking, camping, or just hanging out watching horror movies, we have a great time together.

I'm an easy-going girl that loves yoga, tattoos (I have over 2 dozen and counting!), food (especially sushi) and the outdoors. I was born and raised in the country, and love the autumn time. I'm passionate about being greener, co-existing peacefully with animals/the environment, and LGBTQ rights. I'm a queer woman married to the best ally. In my free time I love to read, go for long walks, practice yoga, cook, and spend time with my family and our friends.

In 2013, I decided to pursue becoming a surrogate. I became pregnant as a gestational carrier in 2014, and had the baby in Jan of 2015. It was an amazing experience.

Gwen and Trav love to bond by skiing together on winter weekends... and I love to sleep in and wake up to a quiet house! 😀

Gwen and I bond by traveling, camping, and hiking together whenever we have the free time to get away.

And I guess that's us in a nutshell. I hope you'll stick around... and leave a comment so I can get to know you too!
