37 days until spring

I was running late on Friday, and ended up taking one train later then normal home. It made for a more relaxed walk to the train station. It also lead to the realization that hey, the days really are getting longer again! The sun was still up, which was a beautiful realization. We still have a ways to go, but my friends, we really are headed in the right direction!

Thank goodness. This weekend we were a half hour late to GG's birthday party since (not one, but) TWO different roads we tried to take to get there were closed, blocked by trees downed by the icy mess we had last week. After days and day (and days etc) of missed school because of snow/ice days, I wasn't surprised when Gwen expressed worry that we would, in fact, NEVER make it to the party at all. We did though, much to all of our relief.

It was fun too, a bounce place. I swear those places are as much fun for adults as for kids. Of course I will ride down this giant inflatable slide, but only because Gwen needs me...  ;-)  Its fun to be a kid again. Just for a few hours.

The rest of the weekend was low-key. Movies, laundry, early nights. And if Trav and I said some prayers Sunday night when it started snowing (again), it didn't take away from our yummy enchilada dinner, and the joy of the return of Walking Dead. And we are all at school/work today, so all's well that ends in not a snow day!!
